Live At The Oasis: The Wonder Years

Starting this week off with one of the three last  The Wonder Years mixes. This one is more of the New Jack Swing and the close sounding but not really New Jack Swing stuff people who weren't Teddy Riley had going on strong. Since it's Monday I did slide into Hip Hop around the second half. If like the sound from the mid to late 80's and early 90's this is it. Enjoy.

Expanding Live At The Oasis

It’s almost been a year since i repackaged Live At The Oasis show on Blogtalkradio, and it’s been a good run. I’m looking to expand the show to an hour at the least, not really looking to max out with a two hour show. I would love to do a live show, completely live from the mix to just interacting with listeners, but I also know people listen when they get the time so whether or not it’s a live mix or not doesn’t really matter. With that said i do want to interact with people who listen to the show. With that thought in mind I’m thinking I may connect with people on Skype, and make the mix to give a fresh feeling to it once I upload it on Blogtalkradio. I’m also going to try and get a video up of me while mixing and even have an extra ten to fifteen minutes of unedited stuff. Not sure if Youtube allows people to do that but I do know I have to acknowledge I don’t own the rights to the songs I play. I’m excited about taking this next step and taking Live At The Oasis to another level. Most of the videos would be for Beats & Bars Friday. It would be cool to also play unsigned artist and even build with them on the show about their project or just music in general. Not sure when all of this will take place, it will be once school starts and I’ll have quiet time to really get it in with no interruptions. Until then if you’ve check the show I hope you enjoyed what you’ve heard so far, and if you haven’t just go here and listen to show.

Luther Loves You

I did a tribute mix the great Luther Vandross and how he could make a cover song his own. Just think about Superstar, no one does it like The Carpenters did it, they copy the Luther Vandross version. I went a bit different with this mix and threw in some soundbites of a show I really never seen until I saw it on Youtube. Anyway this was one of my favorite Sunday Soul Session mixes when i used to do that... I need to get back into that too. Enjoy

1. The Carpenters - Superstar
2. Dionne Warwick -  So Amazing
3. Brenda Russell - If Only For One Night
4. The Temptations - Since I Lost My Baby
5. Lori Lieberman - Killing Me Softly With His Song
6. Stevie Wonder - Until You Come Back To Me
7. Major Harris - Love Won't Let Me Wait
8. Bee Gees - How Deep Is Your Love
9. Luther Vandross -  A House Is Not A Home
10. Luther Vandross - Bad Boy Having A Part
11. Luther Vandross feat. Cheryl Lynn - If This World Were Mine
12. Luther Vandross - Superstar

Live At The Oasis: The Wonder Years My High School Years Hip Hop

My high school years were good, I really came into my own as person and artist. In 93' I got together with two homies and formed a ill crew, S.O.N.N (Souljahs Of Newport News) and really hard on the whole battle rap game. Slowed down in a few things and grew as a person. I really started getting into the lessons of the 5 Percent Nation. The music truly was the soundtrack of our lives back then. If you grew up during that time and remember how crazy things were or just like 90's hip Hop I hope you'll in this weeks old school mix.
